Resources For Remote Learning

Good Morning Parents and Guardians,

 

I hope that this message finds you and your families doing well despite all that is happening around us right now.  I want to thank you all for your cooperation and flexibility through this whole ordeal as we try to provide all of you with some structure and resources so that your child can continue learning from home.  

 

I am sure by now you have received several emails from the district, Dr. Chang, and your student's classroom teachers.  I do not want to bombard you with more emails as I am sure several of you are working from home as well.  I just wanted to reach out to you all and offer myself as another layer of support to help keep your child learning while the schools remain shut down.  

 

Other than packets distributed by the school, the iReady Math and Reading (Online) lessons, and Xtra Math (math facts practice), you can remind your child that they also have access to the Get Epic Website.  This is an online library of several thousands of books,of high interest (books are of varying levels of grade and ability).   For younger readers, many of the books also have the "read aloud" and "read to me" function.  There are also several videos that accompany the stories and books to keep your child engaged.  

 

1.  Get Epic!  At student login, enter the class code ldn6156 (first letter is lowercase L.  Code is case sensitive) 

 

Another website is the Prodigy (Math Based) game. This is also based on varying levels of grade and ability.

3.  To practice typing skills, students can go onto Typing Club Typing Club
