Chair Descriptions

After School Enrichment

Works with multiple vendors to provide after school enrichment programs like Chess Masters. Ensures vendors are District approved, arranges schedule, coordinates. After school programs 2-4 per year.

Art Contest (Reflections)

Coordinates the art competition. Packages submissions and turns them in to District for judging. Announces winners and returns submissions.

Book Fair/Scholastic

Plans and arranges the Scholastic Book Fair that is held during Open House. Creates the Signup Genius to coordinate volunteers for the Book Fair. Ensures Scholastic News is reordered for teachers.

Carnival

Plans and coordinates the annual Carnival Festival with committee members. There is a how-to binder for this role.

Coffee with the Principal

Arrange the event. Pick up coffee prior. 3x per year.

College Shirts

Work with vendor to sell college shirts for kids to wear on College days (Wednesdays).

5th Grade Party

Coordinate with 5th grade teachers to arrange the 5th grade party. Fundraise for event. Create and order 5th grade shirts.

Family Fun Nights

Arrange multiple Family Fun Nights throughout the year. Could include family game night, bingo, STEAM projects, cooking class, etc.

Fundraiser: Restaurant Nights

Contact local restaurants and schedule restaurant fundraisers. Typically 4 per year.

Fundraiser: Mixed Bags

Coordinate the mixed bags fundraiser.

Fundraiser: Quartermania

Coordinate the Quartermania event by arranging venue, food vendor, prizes, etc.

Fundraiser: Great Wolf

Arrange fundraiser with Great Wolf Lodge. Purchase ducks, arrange prizes, collect funds.

Garden (Kinder)

Tend to the kindergarten garden.

Grant/Giving Coordinator

Submit applications to corporate companies such as Target, Staples, etc. Solicit corporate donations.

Group Events

Plan group events like Angels games, Medieval Times, Ducks games, etc. so we can show our school spirit outside of school!

Health & Safety

Update the emergency cards and paperwork in the first day paperwork and coordinate the emergency provision program. Work with the school to address health and safety concerns.

Holiday Boutique

Solicit vendors to sell their wares at our holiday boutique. This is a great opportunity for our students to buy Christmas gifts for their parents and for all of us to shop local.

Honorary Service Awards

Form a committee to honor school volunteers.

Jog-a-Thon

Coordinate the Jog-a-Thon. Handled by 2nd VP.

Meet the Masters

Coordinate with Meet the Masters to ensure all needed art supplies are purchased and prepared in time for the art sessions. Coordinate the Square Art fundraiser.

Newsletter

The newsletter is now digital and sent out quarterly.

Play

Identify outside vendor for the play. Coordinate parent volunteers. Hold info meetings. There is a binder to assist.

PTA Advocacy

Attend advocacy meetings and report back.

PTA Membership

Run membership drive. Handled by 1st VP.

PTA Website

Keep the website updated with current events. Ensure the website fee is paid.

REACH Liaison

Attend REACH meetings and report back.

Red Ribbon Week

Coordinate activities for Red Ribbon Week.

Room Parent Coordinator

Coordinate the room parents. Ensure information is relayed to the room parents for distribution to parents.

SCAC

Attend meetings and report back.

Science Fair

Coordinate the Science Fair by sending out info packets, holding a parent meeting if needed, arranging judges.

Social Media

Update social media.

Special Education

Attend special education meetings and report back.

Spirit Wear

Handle spirit wear fundraisers by identifying vendor, obtaining a shirt design, distributing spirit wear.

Staff Appreciation Lunches

Order food and provide lunches throughout the year 3-4x per year.

Staff Treat Trolley

Purchase treats for distribution to staff on the day prior to school start.

Talent Show

Coordinate the talent show.

Trunk-or-Treat

Plan the Trunk-or-Treat event held in the school parking lot.

Yearbook

Create the yearbook for purchase.
