Dear Lakeview Families,
Welcome to the 2026-27 school year at Lakeview Elementary, a repeat CA Distinguished School! I am honored to continue serving as Lakeview’s principal and proud to lead a passionate and dedicated community of educators, families and students. Although the summer calendar is slightly shorter than years past, I hope you were able to still find time to create memories with your family and enjoy time together. My family enjoyed a few weeks in Hawaii playing in the pool with grandparents and at the beach with cousins, tubing down old irrigation canals, and adventuring off the beaten paths. We also squeezed in a Dodger game and a few shows at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Although short, it was a lovely time to rest and reset!
To our new Lakeview families - WELCOME! The Lakeview community is a small but mighty partnership. We look forward to meeting you and growing together. Please consider joining the PTA which offers a variety of ways to get involved and directly support our school. Stay tuned for a master calendar of events from our PTA and join the first Association meeting on August 27th.

Under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Kym LeBlanc-Esparza, I am pleased to introduce the pylpromise, our five-year strategic plan where we are Rooted in Connection, Ready for Tomorrow, and Stronger Together. I invite you into this partnership of living out the PYLUSD vision of being a dynamic and supportive learning community that prepares each and every student for success now and in the future.
Everyday counts! Attached is the District Calendar so you can plan vacations around scheduled breaks. Please also visit the Lakeview School Website for additional updates and information, including links to the Bell Schedule, voluntary Supply Lists and the School Handbook for you to review with your child before school starts.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Wednesday, August 12 - Preschool, TK and Kindergarten Meet & Greets! This will serve as your Back to School Night. Please plan to bring your early learner to meet their teacher and visit the classroom. More information to follow via email next week!
- Preschool Meet & Greet at 10am
- TK Meet & Greet at 10am
- Kindergarten Meet & Greet at 9am
- Wednesday, August 12 - Teacher assignments will be posted in the AERIES parent portal after 6pm. You can log in to your Aeries parent portal account to view your child's assignment.
- Thursday, August 13 - First day of school! School begins at 7:50am. Parents are invited to walk their child to their class line on this day only. More information to come via email!
- Thursday, August 27 - Back to School Night (Grades 1-5) begins at 5:30pm in the MPR with a PTA Association Meeting. There will be two repeat classroom presentations at 6:15pm and 7:00pm. We hope to see each of you there to learn valuable information about our school and your child’s classroom. Thank you for your partnership!
- Monday, September 7 is a non-student day in recognition of Labor Day.
