Dear Lakeview Community,
End of the year brings exciting events and awards! Please consider nominating a staff or community member for an Honorary Service Award (HERE) for their dedication and contribution to Lakeview Elementary this school year. Descriptions of the award categories are as follows:
- Very Special Person Award - This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for their service to PTA.
- Honorary Service Award - This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for outstanding service to children and youth in your community, going above and beyond what is asked of them.
- Continuing Service Award - This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for ongoing or long-time service to children and youth, providing support year after year.
- Outstanding Teacher Award - This award may be given to recognize a teacher for outstanding service to children and youth through PTA, school, or community.
- Golden Oak Service Award - This award is given to recognize, as the most prestigious of the Honorary Service Awards, an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in a school or community.
Nominations are open through May 20th.
Save the Date: Honorary Service Awards will be presented at the PTA Association Meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at 2:30 in the MPR. All are invited!

Save the Date: Lakeview Carnival is on June 5 from 4-7pm. See the attached flyer for information, including an RSVP and opportunity to volunteer! We need high schoolers seeking to fulfill their volunteer hours. Use the QR code to sign up!

Friendly Reminders:
- Students are not to have cell phones or iWatches in class. They may store them in their backpack during the school day and access them at dismissal.
- There is a lot of end of year excitement and activities. Please refrain from sending to school items that are home-baked or any food items in goodie bags. These will not be distributed to ensure the safety of students and ensure parents have knowledge of the food their child is consuming.
- Please plan extra time to park and check in at the office with a valid ID for all end of year events, unless directed differently.
- Unless specifically noted, younger siblings are not allowed at classroom events.
As you look at summer plans, please be advised that our PLYUSD School Calendar has shifted for the 2026-27 school year, with an earlier start date of August 13th. You can find the calendar HERE.
If you would like to provide a Staff or Student Shoutout, please visit the office to fill out a form. We announce these recipients as they come in to highlight our amazing school community!
Safety Updates - Please continue to follow drop off and pick up expectations. This includes using the Vista del Verde park entrance to appropriately join the valet line. The first driveway is reserved for busses and staff. Additionally, please be alert and drive safely!

Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
- Student's first & last name
- Teacher
- Date of the absence
- Reason for the absence
- Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
- Contact phone number
