Lakeview Lions Update - March 27, 2026

Dear Lakeview Community,

We had so many LIONS IN THE WILD this month and well exceeded our goal of 1,000 non-screen activities by earning over 10,000 paws!!! We have loved seeing the photos come in. Please stop by the outside of the library during Open House to view the pictures paws. I hope you enjoyed extra moments as a family, or simply knowing your child(ren) were playing, building, creating, and engaging with the world around them.

WE HAVE 5 DAYS LEFT UNTIL SPRING BREAK AND A FULL CAMPUS SCHEDULE! Read below to stay up to date on all the exciting events.

Spring Book Fair Opens Monday! Students had the opportunity to preview our Catch the Reading Bug Book Fair today and our teachers were treated to lunch, a la PTA. Thank you to Caroline Macias and her amazing team for setting everything up and hosting us today! Click HERE for the schedule and to set up your child’s e-wallet. Please note: parents are required to supervise their children in the Book Fair before/after school.

Science Fair Showcase is next week! Wrap up your project this weekend and make sure to note the schedule below. If you registered through the QR code on THIS flyer, you should have received an email from Lakeview PTA gmail with detailed instructions. Please review this or email the team at yllakeviewelementarypta@gmail.com with questions.

• Monday 3/30 - Projects DUE by 3pm to the MPR. Gate 2 will be open from 7:35 - 7:50am and again from 2:15pm. Any boards delivered during the school day will need to be brought into the front office. Reminder: Please ensure student's name, grade and teacher's name are written on the front of the board.
• Tuesday 3/30 - Participants will be called out of class to speak to the judges about their project/process. Please reference the email from Lakeview PTA sent March 24th which outlines the details of this activity, including the questions your child should be ready to respond to.
• Thursday 4/1 - Awards Assembly starting at 5pm in the MPR. Doors will open at 4:30 for families to view the projects.

Open House + PTA Meeting! Please join the Lakeview community during this springtime showcase to see the achievement and growth of our Lions. Food and treats for sale! Please also check the Lost and Found to reclaim any of your child’s items. There are a LOT of clothing items and fancy water bottles waiting to be reuinted with their owners. Flyer attached!

• 5:30pm PTA Association Meeting in the MPR - Come here updates and vote on necessary items to continue helping to move our school forward together!
• 6:00pm - Classrooms Open
• 7:00pm - Classrooms Close
• 7:30pm - Book Fair Closes

Safety Updates - Please continue to follow drop off and pick up expectations. This includes using the Vista del Verde park entrance to appropriately join the valet line. The first driveway is reserved for busses and staff. Additionally, please be alert and drive safely in our parking lots. Our precious children are nearby. 

Every Wednesday is AVID College & Career Ready Spirit Day - Wear your college or career gear to set a strong goal and focus for your future!

Every Friday is Lakeview Spirit Day - Wear your school colors (gold/black) or your Lion gear every Friday to celebrate our community!

Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:

Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.

Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:

• Student's first & last name
• Teacher
• Date of the absence
• Reason for the absence
• Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
• Contact phone number
