Lakeview Lions Update - March 20, 2026

Dear Lakeview Community!

We had a fantastic Literacy Night event yesterday! Thank you to our many families who joined in on the activities led by real-life published authors. It was exciting to see how infused the sessions were with art, from sketching emotions to learning calligraphy and making origami. Many applauds of gratitude to Mrs. Williams who organized this successful event and our many PTA volunteers who helped facilitate extensions of community through food vendors, a bookmobile, raffle prizes and more!

On Wednesday, Lakeview hosted the PYLUSD Principal for the Day with the Chambers of Commerce. Pete Grant, YL City Manager, was our guest of honor. He is a newer resident to Yorba Linda but is very knowledgeable about our history. Mr. Grant also brought swag for our students who were very excited to don the sunglasses and grab a multicolored highlighter. We value our community partnerships and this is a great event to maintain those relationships.

You can still get to Better Buzz for one final treat before heading into the weekend! Mention Lakeview before 8pm and a portion of your purchase will come back to our Lions!  Flyer attached!

Please read below for upcoming events!

It’s the final week for Lions in the Wild! Keep finding ways to spend time together, getting outside (when it’s not too hot), or playing new board games in AC. Photos and paws are posted in the library windows and will be left up for display at Open House! Let’s meet our goal of 1,000 paws!

The 2026 Science Fair has just over one week left! You can still submit your entry using the QR code on the link and work on a science project before the due date of March 30th. This can even count as a Lions in the Wild activity! Please see the attached flyer with information to guide this at-home project.

*Update: Science Awards Ceremony is rescheduled to Thursday, April 1 at 5pm*

Spring Book Fair is coming March 30 - April 3! Sign up to volunteer and get your child’s e-wallet set up for easy purchasing. This is a great time to grab some books for Spring Break! Flyer attached.

Please see the attached flyer from the city of Yorba Linda who is hosting an e-bike safety meeting on Monday, March 23. Kids are welcome!

Safety Updates - Please continue to follow drop off and pick up expectations. This includes using the Vista del Verde park entrance to appropriately join the valet line. The first driveway is reserved for busses and staff. Additionally, please be alert and drive safely! Children are on campus!
