Dear Lakeview Community!
We had so much fun this week at Lakeview honoring our many fundraising Lions with some of their prizes: Cash Cube, Magic Show, In & Out Lunch and Principal for the Day! Other prizes are on their way!
Kids Heart Challenge Final Update: Our Kids Heart Challenge was a success! THANK YOU for your incredible generosity and support in making our community heart healthy while helping others. YOU made a difference! 173 students joined our team, 43 families completed Finn’s Mission, and we raised $10,143 for the American Heart Association to help people with special hearts! THANK YOU!
We know how important it is to take care of our hearts year-round, so for additional tips and resources, visit the Parent Corner to keep your family healthy. If you haven’t completed Finn’s Mission yet, you can still log in at http://www2.heart.org/goto/
Lions in the Wild Update! We have loved seeing the pictures roll in of our Lions in the Wild! Keep getting outside, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Remember, the goal is to find an activity that replaces a screen or device for 20 minutes or more. Photos and paws are posted in the library windows and will be left up for display at Open House!
Have you signed up for Family Literacy Night on March 19 from 5-7pm? Family Literacy Night will be a fun-filled evening where families come to celebrate the joy of reading! Students and their families will rotate through engaging literacy stations, meet local authors, and participate in book-inspired crafts and games. This interactive night is designed to spark a love of literacy while creating meaningful family memories through learning and play. Dinner & Dip n Dots will be available to purchase during the evening! All ages invited! See the attached flyer with hyperlinks to each of the authors.
The 2026 Science Fair is ON! You can still sign up to complete an at-home science fair project. Some teachers are giving extra credit! Please see the attached flyer with information to guide. In the past, we have had many entries across all grade levels and look forward to more! This year, we will align the due dates so the science projects are displayed during Open House. DUE March 31st.
*Update: Science Awards Ceremony is rescheduled to Thursday, April 1 at 5pm*
Spring Book Fair is coming March 30 - April 3! Sign up to volunteer and get your child’s e-wallet set up for easy purchasing. This is a great time to grab some books for Spring Break! Flyer attached.

We had a high volume of tardies this week and are aware of the challenge some families have with the time change. Now that we have a week under our belts, let’s make sure our Lions are at school on time each day so as to not disrupt anyone’s learning experience.
Next week is looking to be filled with warm days. Please send your child to school with appropriate clothing and refillable water bottles. Fruits are great water-based snack to help keep children hydrated and nourished. We monitor temperatures and air quality and have protocol to keep our students safe.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend!
Best,
Mrs. Given
