I have accepted the PRINCIPALS CHALLENGE! Once we get 220 students signed up for Kids Heart Challenge, that’s about half the school, we will earn $500 to spend on our playground! To celebrate, everyone can dress up as their favorite heart hero pup or their color, and I will come to school in an inflatable dog costume, just like this year’s Heart Heroes!!
Finn’s Mission Fridays! Complete Finn’s Mission before each Friday (until February 27th) to be honored with your superhero cape at a caping ceremony during RECESS!

Great Kindness Campaign Update - Our students participated in different activities to spread kindness this week. Families are invited to continue the challenge at home with the attached checklists! Make it a fun challenge between siblings and neighbors. We also have STAFF SHOUTOUTS in the office. When you’re stopping in to volunteer or turn in paperwork, write a kind note to a staff member to help make their day a great one!

30 Day Public Curriculum Review
On December 15, 2025, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District initiated a 30-day public review of K-5 ELA curriculum adoption and implementation for the 2026-2027 school year. The display will also include a novel to be added to the Core and Extended Reading List. The review display will be set up at the PYLUSD district office, and members of the PYLUSD community will be able to visit the display to review hardcopy and digital materials during office hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Those visiting the public review display will be able to submit feedback and/or comments through a digital feedback form. The 30-day public display will conclude on February 10, 2026.

Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
- Student's first & last name
- Teacher
- Date of the absence
- Reason for the absence
- Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
- Contact phone number
