Dear Lakeview Community,
It was so much fun seeing our Lions dressed up in their fun costumes and outfits today. We had very creative getups and a fun dance party at recess. Thank you to all our parent volunteers who support crafts and activities in classrooms.
Thank you for participating in this year’s Red Ribbon Week where students celebrated making healthy habits and PAWSitive choices. In conclusion of the week, our School Resource Office, Deputy Lee and her colleagues joined us at Coffee with the Principal to share important information about e-bike and internet safety. Important facts:
- Bicyclists must ride with the flow of traffic
- Bicyclists must walk their bike when in the crosswalk
- E-bikes with a lower class of 1 or 2 can still go upwards of 20 mph
- E-bike riders must wear a full-face helmet. A standard bicycle helmet will not provide protection in the event of a collision or fall
- Our motor deputies issue tickets to help remind drivers of safety laws and to help prevent accidents
- The OC Sheriff Dept holds e-bike safety sessions for parents and children
- Non - emergency line: (714) 647-7000

We are heading into the cold and flu season. Did you know that students can still attend school even if they have mild cold symptoms or a tummy ache? Oftentimes students find that school “is magical” and their symptoms may subside once they get going with their day. Our staff also closely monitor students and will send your child to the Health Office if they feel something is awry. Attached is the Student Illness Guideline to help you decide when your child should stay home.
There is a District-wide Attendance Challenge through November and December. We are competing against our old selves in an attempt to beat last year’s 93.73% attendance rate. If you have questions about whether your child can attend, please don’t hesitate to call the Health Clerk at (714) 987 - 7190 ext 53042.
PYLUSD Career Link & Academies Pathways: Did you know that Yorba Linda High School offers a Culinary Arts Program within their Mustang Business Academy?
