Dear Lakeview Community,
The favorite part of my day today was dancing with our students at our Glow Dance Party for those who completed Finn’s Challenge in the Kids Heart Challenge. Our Lions have moves! Thank you to Heather Day (Academic Support Teacher) and Piyorasa Li (Registered Behavior Technician) for creating our playlist, filling the MPR with balloons, prepping the glow sticks, and planning a fun dance off…with prizes!
Thank you to our PTA and Carnival Chairperson, Melissa Whipple, for an outstanding Surf’s Up Carnival! I love seeing the campus slowly transform with the help of so many parent volunteers. My two-year-old daughter enjoyed the music, dancing in the bubbles and seeing all the “big kids!”
As we head into our final week of school, I hope you are proud of your child’s progress and achievement. I also hope you were able to experience opportunities to connect with fellow Lakeview families at our community events. Please join us at our final PTA Association Meeting on Tuesday, June 13 at 2:30 in the MPR. We will vote on the final budget for the ‘23-24 school year and announce our Honorary Service Awards.
We have a lot of fun events in this last week of school, both class parties and school-wide activities. As you make plans to attend, please plan for extra time to accommodate for the following safety measures:
--Park in unmarked stalls. Refrain from parking in the 15-minute lot if you will be on campus longer than the time limit.
--Please do not park along the red emergency curb.
--Check in at the office with a drivers license or government issued ID.
--Drive slowly through the parking lot at all times.
Field Day - Tuesday, June 13. Students will have the option to participate in water activities. Please send them to school with a change of clothes and towel should they choose to participate. If a student opts of out water activities, there will be other options available during Field Day.
Shhh! Surprise Parent Clap out for all 5th graders. All parents and community members are invited to celebrate our 5th graders as they exit Gate 1 for the final time on Thursday, June 15 at 12 noon. Please line up outside of Gate 1, near the Administration Building by 11:45am.
5th Grade End of Year Events
--Monday, June 12 - 5th Grade Breakfast, 8-9am, MPR. All parents are welcome to celebrate their 5th grade student. Sign up to volunteer your time or bring treats HERE.
--Monday, June 12 - End of Year Field Trip to CSUF. Volunteer sign ups for supervision zones HERE. All parents attending must be chaperones.
--Tuesday, June 13 - Awards Assembly, 8:15, MPR, by invite only.
--Wednesday, June 14 - Student and Staff Kickball Game, internal school activity.
--Thursday, June 15 - Final Day of School; Dismissal at 12 noon. Surprise parent clap out - see above.

Early Cubs: 7:50-11:50am
Late Cubs: 9:30am-1:15pm
TK - Last day of school is Thursday, June 15
All students attend 7:50-11:10am
Grades K-5 - Last day of school is Thursday, June 15
All students attend 7:50am-12:00pm *note this is a different dismissal time than typical minimum days)

Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
Student's first & last name
Teacher
Date of the absence
Reason for the absence (if illness, we need the nature of the illness & symptoms the student is having)
Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
Contact phone number
