Lakeview Lion Updates: April 14, 2023

Dear Lakeview Families,

I hope you had a wonderful Spring Break together. Many students have shared about their adventures to different states, countries, and to our local theme parks. I was able to take a few days away in Santa Barbara where my husband’s family is, celebrating birthdays and playing with cousins. Rest is so important for us all and I hope that you feel rejuvenated as the seasons transition and we head into the final stretch. We have 9 weeks remaining in the ‘22-23 school year with much to still teach and learn! Thank you for helping to create positive school habits by ensuring your child arrives on time for school. We had zero tardies our first few days back - thank you!

We have some fun end of the year events coming up that need your help! Please see the attached fliers for our Spring Carnival, on June 2nd. If you’re interested in giving of your time, talents or treasures, please contact our Carnival PTA Chairperson, Melissa Whipple and loveandhonorphotography@gmail.com.

2023 Science Fair is OPEN!
Does your child have a unique interest in researching and figuring out how things work or come to be? Please take a look at the attached flier for our Science Fair. Make sure to sign up using the Participation Google Form and save the date of May 4th for our Science Fair Presentation Night!

Add your Lakeview pictures to the Yearbook!
Do you have class photos from recent activities? Share them with our Yearbook Committee to get them into the 2022-23 yearbook by emailing them to: Lakeviewlionsyearbook@gmail.com

Love Yorba Linda Day - April 29th
Join your fellow neighbors and community members for a city-wide volunteer day. Lakeview School will be on the list for some simple tidying and gardening projects. See the attached flyers or pick one up in the front office.

Everyday Counts!
Please help your child be on time everyday! Students need additional time to walk from the valet to their classroom line. We begin our community flag salute at 7:50am. The warning bell is now at 7:45am.

Independent Study Contracts
If you have a planned trip, please notify the office and your child’s teacher. An independent study contract can be arranged to ensure your child has ongoing access to their learning and provide for recaptured absences. We kindly request a 2-week advance notice.

Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
Student's first & last name
Teacher
Date of the absence
Reason for the absence (if illness, we need the nature of the illness & symptoms the student is having)
Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
