Dear Lakeview Community,
Thank you to each family for your continued support and partnership! We had a fantastic OPEN HOUSE last night with a positive energy about campus. I love seeing students share their learning with parents, and discuss their projects. As the hour came to a close, there was a beautiful sunset backdropping clusters of parents chatting and kids running around on the grass. What a fun sight!
Just prior to classrooms opening, we held our PTA Association Meeting. Thank you for approving the new budget which will support our ongoing efforts to modernize our STEM Lab. Historically, Lakeview PTA has been a leader in ensuring our students have the best technology, starting with 1:1 Chromebooks. We appreciate your ongoing support of funding our field trips, assemblies, and great art lessons through Meet the Masters.

Also brought to you by our PTA, will be two after school opportunities through Strategic Kids: Chess and Magic classes. Your children may already be talking about the Masters of the Field lunchtime recess games led by a contracted coach. And recall the fun Lego Engineering Workshop with me in December? Both of these have been organized by Strategic Kids and we are excited for PTA’s offering of either chess or magic at no cost to you! Due to limited space, we ask that you only sign up your child for one of the classes. If we get more instructors, we will open up the classes to additional participants. Fliers attached. Registration begins March 20th at 4pm.

Everyday Counts!
Please help your child be on time everyday! Students need additional time to walk from the valet to their classroom line. We begin our community flag salute at 7:50am. The warning bell is now at 7:45am.
Independent Study Contracts
If you have a planned trip, please notify the office and your child’s teacher. An independent study contract can be arranged to ensure your child has ongoing access to their learning and provide for recaptured absences. We kindly request a 2-week advance notice.
Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
--Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
--Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
Student's first & last name
Teacher
Date of the absence
Reason for the absence (if illness, we need the nature of the illness & symptoms the student is having)
Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
Contact phone number
