Lakeview Lion Updates: October 14, 2022

Dear Lakeview Families,

It has been a full week of activities, changing weather, fundraiser announcements, planning for upcoming projects and events, PTA meetings, Sunshine Squad gatherings, and a lot of excitement from students. Nonetheless, teachers continue to provide rigorous instruction layered with creative projects for students to demonstrate their learning.

We have some exciting events in the month of October - our biggest fundraiser (Jogathon) and our first all-community event (Trunk or Treat). It is because of our wonderful parent community that we have a strong school to home connection. Believe it or not, this is instrumental in student achievement: when students know you care about their education and school experience, their motivation increases. I had the wonderful opportunity to share about Lakeview’s community with Dr. Matthews during our Superintendent Site Visit on Wednesday. He is impressed with the commitment of all stakeholders: parents, teachers and students. Please read below to consider how you can support with your time, treasures and talents.

Mary Poppins Jr - PTA Play
We still have plenty of registration spaces available for any Lakeview Lion interested in learning about theater, interested in acting, dancing or singing. All experience levels are welcome!  Auditions are coming up this Tuesday October 18th from  2:30-4pm in the MPR.
There are a few things you will need to ready.
- Register your child here prior to Tuesday. https://center-stage-theater.com/
- Fill out the performer sheet attached, turn this into us at auditions.
(Registration and the performer sheet are two separate items. Registration is through the director and company putting on the show, performer sheet is for the PTA)
- Have your child practice the song they will perform for auditions. (Found in the above website)
If you have any questions please email [email protected]

Jog-a-thon Update
This is our final week as we head into our biggest fundraising event!
