Lakeview Lion Updates: April 1, 2022

Dear Lakeview Families,

Today is PYLUSD’s Thank a Food Service Worker Day! Our Lions showered Sunamita Meza with cards and flowers today thanking her for her dedication to our school. Did you know school lunches have been free to students all year? This increase has definitely impacted our Nutrition Services workers and we are so grateful for their kindness and flexibility. Take a look at the attached picture with students from Mrs. Peterson's class who each delivered her a sweet note and rose!

Additional Thank You’s are due to our 5th grade parent volunteers who provided our staff with a beautiful spring array of breakfast treats, bagels and coffee!

Two Surveys to fill out:

  1. Kindly let us know of your Intent to Return next school year by clicking HERE. We are extending the deadline to April 8 to capture as many family responses as possible.
  2. Nominate an individual or community organization for a PTA Honorary Service Award! This is a unique way for our PTA to publicly acknowledge those who’ve demonstrated outstanding community service to our Lions! Nominate someone HERE by April 5.

Help a Family in Need
One of our own Lakeview families is in need of resources. Please see the attached flier for any optional donations.

We are one week away from Spring Break, Lions! We hope to see everyone in class next week, ready to R.O.A.R!

After a two year hiatus, Carnival is back! Save the Date: Friday June 3rd 3:30-6:30 PM

  • This is an after-school event for our students, families and friends. We will have a silent auction, games, prizes, food vendors, etc...
  • We are looking for Family and Business sponsors. Sponsorship Levels begin at $200.
  • Pre-sale tickets/sponsorship forms will be sent home shortly.
  • Each class will be responsible for an Auction Basket, so keep an eye out for correspondence from your Class Parent.
  • We are looking for parent volunteers, as well as high school students to help run the game booths. (Students will receive community service hours for their help.)

Attached are three NOCE (North Orange Continuing Education) fliers about upcoming events and classes for adults/parents. NOCE is our partner for Love and Logic and other parenting/wellness classes. Many of our Lakeview staff have attended Love and Logic training and we’d love for you to also benefit from these practices at home with your Lions! See attached.

As of now, Lakeview Transitional Kindergarten Schedule for 2022-23 school year will be the same. Updates, if any, will be communicated in June.

  • AM Cubs: 7:50am-11:10am
  • PM Cubs: 9:30am-12:50pm
  • Health Snack will be during the overlap time

Save the Date - May 26th for Lakeview School Angles Game! Join your fellow Lions for the home game against the Blue Jays! See the attached flier.
