Lakeview Lion Updates: February 11, 2022

Dear Lakeview Families,

What an exciting time at Lakeview! Hearts were fluttering, feet were dancing, and valentines were passed around today. Our cast members in The Little Mermaid, Jr had an extra pep in their step after last night’s amazing opening night. Wow - I knew our community was talented; I did not know I would tear up at the beautiful voices or smile at the hidden personalities that came out in costume. There seems to be no end when I observe our wonderful team of parent volunteers come together to provide our Lions and community such an extraordinary event. Endless applause and hopes for lots of rest and recovery to Marisol Ligot and Jacquelyn Kuo, PTA Play Co-Chairpersons. My son, Easten, accompanied me and on our drive home asked how long he would have to wait until he could go back to “the theater to see the big kids again.” To say he was disappointed when I said “next year” is an understatement. I think we have a fun Mother-Son date night tradition in the making :)

With great pride, I was able to share some of the accomplishments and goals with both Dr. Elsasser, Superintendent of PYLUSD and Dr. Leon, the Director of Elementary Education this week. It comes from a place of genuine honesty when I get to say I am the Proud Principal of Lakeview Elementary. Thank you to each family for supporting our teachers and staff at Lakeview by partnering in your child’s education. Thank you for following our school procedures, rules, and guidelines which allows us to bring back wonderful Lakeview traditions and build new ones together!

This is a friendly reminder to take the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) parent survey online before Friday, February 25th. As parents and guardians, your feedback is extremely important and will help PYLUSD, as well as Lakeview Elementary School, improve. To access this year’s parent survey, you will find it on the front page of the District’s website as well as on our school’s homepage.

As February continues, we have quite a few exciting events coming up. Please read below and see the attachments for additional information.
