Dear Lakeview Families,
The second week back has brought some fun excitement to campus with 80's dress up to celebrate the 80th day of school (actually one day early - oops!) and Friday dance parties at recess. I hope your child continues to enjoy coming to school, building positive relationships with peers and staff, and finding a place of belonging.

Treats w/ the Principal in the Park - Rescheduled to February 3rd. An outdoor, afternoon take on Coffee with the Principal on 1/18 at 2:45 at Vista del Verde park near the playground. Parents may include questions ahead of time HERE. I will do my best to seek and/or bring answers with me.
PTA Board Positions for 2022-2023 Needed - Our fabulous Lakeview PTA is preparing to fill some very important roles for next year's PTA Executive Board. If you are interested in joining our team and filling a position, please let one of our current board members or the head of our nominating committee, Christina Lukehart ([email protected]), know.
Lakeview Science Fair coming up! Is your child already curious about experiments and figuring out how things work? Take a look at the attached flyer for more details. Sign up to participate HERE. A Parent & Student Guide is available on the website and will be in your child’s TH folder next week. Save the date: March 17th for our Science Fair Awards Night.
TK Parent Information Night - Please see the attached flier for information regarding Transitional Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. Save the Date: Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Parent Information Night next Thursday, January 20th. Online registration process begins January 31, 2022.
Water Awareness Poster Contest! - All OC students are invited to create posters that reflect the theme: #OCISWATERSMART. Many of my own students participated in this contest and even won. Some of their art was published in a yearly calendar for the county and displayed in prominent places like John Wayne airport. Please see the attached flier for details. All art will be due to the office by Wednesday, February 23.
iReady Diagnostic Window #2 opens next week and closes Feb 4! This assessment is a great opportunity for them to show us what they know and a standardized tool for teachers to determine next nest steps. If your child is at home in quarantine or out due to illness, they can make up the test when they return to school - do not worry!
New Way to Report Absences! - We have a new way to report your child's absence on our Lakeview Website! Click the Family Resources tab or the Report an Absence button in the top left corner.
