Dear Lakeview Families,
Welcome to March, where we started the month with lightning, thunder, snow/hail/graupel and of course, beautiful sunshine. Thank you for making arrangements for today’s early dismissal!
Today marks the end of the second trimester and teachers spent the afternoon finalizing grades and prepping report cards. This is valuable protected time for our busy teachers. You can expect your child’s report card to be available in AERIES on Friday, March 17th. Typically, they are released in the evening. Kindergarten teachers will send home a hard copy as well.
We have a lot of fun activities planned in our final trimester, including end of the year events. There is also a significant amount of instruction that needs to take place in order to prepare students for their next grade. Kindly plan vacations and fun trips using our built in breaks so as to not disrupt learning and assessment. Spring Break is April 3-7!
Our next big event is OPEN HOUSE on March 16th. Please join us at the PTA Association Meeting at 5:30 to vote on our next PTA Board. Nominations are posted on the office door. Classrooms will be open between 6-7pm.
The Scholastic Book Fair will take place the full week of March 13-17, and be open before/during Open House. Please see the attached flier to get your child set up early.

Incoming TK or Kindergartner for the 2023-24 school year?
We are offering a *rescheduled* school tour on March 7th for families with incoming Transitional Kindergartners or Kindergartners for the 2023-24 school year. Please see the attached flyer and call the office to RSVP.
Add your Lakeview pictures to the Yearbook! Share them with our Yearbook Committee to get them into the 2022-23 yearbook by emailing them to: Lakeviewlionsyearbook@gmail.
Expanded Learning Before/After School Care 2023-24
Currently attending families and incoming TK/K families may register beginning March 20th. Contingent upon space, new incoming families may register on April 3rd. Please see the attached flyer.

Everyday Counts!
Please help your child be on time everyday! Students need additional time to walk from the valet to their classroom line. We begin our community flag salute at 7:50am. The warning bell is now at 7:45am.
Independent Study Contracts
If you have a planned trip, please notify the office and your child’s teacher. An independent study contract can be arranged to ensure your child has ongoing access to their learning and provide for recaptured absences. We kindly request a 2-week advance notice.
Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
Student's first & last name
Teacher
Date of the absence
Reason for the absence (if illness, we need the nature of the illness & symptoms the student is having)
Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
Contact phone number
