Dear Lakeview Community!
Last night, I had the honor of attending the CA Distinguished School Ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel accompanied by Ms. Eliot and Ms. Angeles. We were joined by our sister schools Brookhaven, Bryant Ranch and Linda Vista, along with Asst Superintendent Dr. Adamson and Superintendent Dr. Matthews. It was a fun evening filled with encouraging speakers, wonderful performances by students across the state and a delicious 3-coursed meal. Micky and Minnie even made an appearance! We received a beautiful plaque which is prominently displayed on our office counter. Take a look the next time you’re here! We will soon fly our new CA Distinguished School flag. Thank you for all your support of our fabulous school! I know I repeat myself, but I mean it wholeheartedly: we cannot do our best as educators without the strong school-to-home partnership. Thank you!
And with that…we need your help! Our PTA Board is turning over key positions and we have open chairperson positions which are needed to keep our events up and running! This includes Jog a thon, the Play, an Event Photographer, Staff Appreciation, Restaurant Fundraiser Nights, Spirit Wear, and more! Annual Survey - 1 Week Left! We are asking for all parents, as vital Educational Partners, to complete the Annual Survey by next Friday, February 24th. Currently, we have 68% of our families who have completed the survey and are striving for 80% participation rate! As parents and guardians, your feedback is extremely important and will help PYLUSD, as well as Lakeview Elementary School, improve. Click HERE to access the surveys.

Expanded Learning Before/After School Care 2023-24: Currently attending families and incoming TK/K families may register beginning March 20th. Contingent upon space, new incoming families may register on April 3rd. Please see the attached flyer.

Kids Heart Challenge UPDATE:
Our Kids Heart Challenge is coming to an end on February 22nd! Our students have done an amazing job learning how to keep their hearts healthy while helping others! This is the last week to help us reach our goal of having 100% of families learn Hands-Only CPR by completing Finn’s Mission. Join our team today at http://www2.heart.org/goto/

Everyday Counts!
Please help your child be on time everyday! Students need additional time to walk from the valet to their classroom line. We begin our community flag salute at 7:50am. The warning bell is now at 7:45am.
Independent Study Contracts
If you have a planned trip, please notify the office and your child’s teacher. An independent study contract can be arranged to ensure your child has ongoing access to their learning and provide for recaptured absences. We kindly request a 2-week advance notice.
Need to Report an Absence? Please let the Office Staff know of your child’s absence by 10am using one of the following methods:
Option 1: Fill out the Absence Reporting Google Form, located on our school website.
Option 2: Call the 24 hr. Absence Reporting Line (also for students who will be tardy) at 714-986-7190, then press 3. Please have the following information ready:
Student's first & last name
Teacher
Date of the absence
Reason for the absence (if illness, we need the nature of the illness & symptoms the student is having)
Name of the person reporting the absence & their relationship to the student
Contact phone number
